Colours Of Observation is a new side-project presented by Marieu, one half of The Analogue Cops, together with Christopher Rau, solid Smallville member.
Being one of the first to unearth The Analogue Cops’ talent early in 2011, Out-ER has repeatedly displayed charm for their “one take”, hardware-only recording approach, which has differentiated The Cops’ musical timbre over the years.
Colours Of Observation was born from a live session and enriches its artistic substance by adding characteristics from both producers. Its commitment comes from a strengthened relationship between label head Simone Gatto and the italian duo, still, the label already invited them to perform twice. Indeed, Colours Of Observation debut release on Out Electronic Recordings doesn’t represent a news. They kicked the moniker off for the first time during a Out-ER takeover at OHM (Berlin), in early may 2015, and performed again at Knick Knack (South Italy) during august.
This housey techno EP connects the label aesthetics with the Berlin-based duo, confirming an unbending aggregation by putting out four contemporary dance music tracks. All originals own a certain warm but raw indigo, a fair balance between the sweet deep house from Rau and the analogue, old-school inspired up beat techno from Analogue Cops. Elements such as propulsive, determined basslines, mild synthlines, insistent drums and joyfull voices distinguish the duo from their own musical personalities. The fruit of this natural union is a sense of fast, idyllic sense of mind wellness, an hybrid outcome unifying two creative minds into the sixteenth’ label release.
